Taking the first step toward therapy can feel scary—even when you know you need it. The good news? You don't have to have it all figured out before we meet. Here's exactly what happens next, so there are no surprises.

Ready To Start?
Here's How It Works

Before we dive in, let's make sure we're a good fit. No pressure, no sales pitch—just a real conversation about what you're dealing with and whether I can help.

If you're ready to dive right in, you can skip this step and move directly to scheduling your first session.

Step 1: Let's Talk First (Free 15-Minute Consultation)

If we both think this could work, we'll get you scheduled. I'll send you intake forms to fill out online—they're secure, private, and you can do them from your couch in your pajamas if you want.

The paperwork covers:
  • Your background and what you're hoping to work on
  • Any relevant history I should know about
  • Consent forms and other boring-but-necessary legal stuff

Don't stress about the forms. You don't need to write a novel or have perfect answers. Just be honest about where you are right now.

Step 2: Schedule Your First Session

During our consultation, we'll figure out which approach feels right for where you are.

The Deep Dive (Therapy Intensives)

3-hour sessions over 1-3 consecutive days

How it works: Instead of building up over weeks, we dive straight into the deep end. These longer sessions give us uninterrupted time to get to the heart of what's keeping you stuck and create real movement.

Your first intensive day: We'll still go through intake, but then we keep going. By the end of our time together, you'll walk away with clarity, tools, and a path forward—not just the beginning of a process.

Perfect if: You're at a breaking point, in a major life transition, or you've done therapy before but need a reset. You want to go deep, move things around, and leave feeling different.

The Slow Burn (Weekly Therapy)

55-minute or 90-minute sessions, weekly (or biweekly)

Your first session: We'll go through your intake forms together, talk about what you're hoping therapy will help with, and get a sense of how we might work together. This session will be more of me asking questions and gathering information—think of it as us getting to know each other and mapping out the territory.

Going forward: We'll usually start with weekly meetings to build momentum, then adjust based on what works for your life. We'll take things at your pace, giving you space to process and grow without turning your world upside down.

Step 3: Choose Your Path - weekly or Intensive

No matter which path we choose, here's what you can expect:

  • I'll work with you to figure out what you want to tackle first and how to take steps toward change. Sometimes this feels like sifting through rubble to find a path forward. Other times, the way ahead feels crystal clear.
  • My job is to walk with you toward whatever you're hoping for—sometimes leading the way, sometimes following your lead, sometimes right beside you asking "What do you think about this?"
  • Will it be difficult? Yes, sometimes. It will also feel energizing, productive, and even fun. It's not uncommon to hear loud laughter coming from my office. (You're allowed to enjoy this process, even when it's hard.)
